While last night's results weren't what we had hoped for, we are not without hope. I am so unbelievably proud of this campaign and the movement we built together."Thank you" will never be enough.
To everyone who participated in this effort - casting a vote, knocking doors, making calls, hosting a gathering, writing post cards, wearing a button, donating, staking a sign, having hard conversations, walking in parades, and so so much more, I om deeply grateful and am better for having shared this journey with you.
While I hold grief for our loss, I celebrate so many of our nation's historic wins. I am hopeful for the future of our country and the evidence that organized people can defeat organized money.
We made meaningful gains in our district and I challenge you to stay engaged. Let's keep talking to our neighbors, looking out for each other, and breaking down barriers that divide us to instead build bridges that keep this movement moving forward.
I will never stop fighting for an accountable government that answers to the people and I hope you will keep fighting with me.
With deep, heartfelt gratitude,
Mary
